The edit of Thriller on the Thriller 25 Limited Japanese Single Collection is not the Special Edit. I’ve heard it, and it appears to be a new edit that just happens to have the same length as the Special Edit. The obvious giveaways are that it uses a longer section of the album intro and it only features the second half of Vincent’s spoken segment (the laugh is edited out). The actual 4:38 Special Edit isn’t really that different to the Remixed Short Version.
